Hi, I'm Sasha Barnes, founder of VetQuest AI.

My dream started as a curious kid with a love for animals of all sizes and learning. That passion eventually led me to Rutgers University, where I earned my B.S. in Animal Science with a focus on Environmental and Business Economics. Today, I'm pursuing my goal of becoming a veterinarian as a 5th-year student at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest.

My drive to improve veterinary education started in a "Learning Techniques" class, where my professor shared a sobering reality: much of what we learn early on in veterinary school is easily forgotten, making it difficult to retrieve when we need it most in clinical practice. I realized that current methods for absorbing such a vast amount of information were overwhelming, not just for me, but for my peers as well.

I initially discovered ANKI and fell in love with the power of active recall, even creating and selling decks to students worldwide through VetDecks.com. However, after three years of daily use, I became burnt out. I found myself craving something more tangible - something that mirrored the real-world experiences I was gaining during my clinical rotations and externships.

That's why I created VetQuest AI. I'm building the platform I wish I'd had - one that replaces passive review with active, evidence-based learning, designed by a student, for students. My mission is to help aspiring veterinarians spend less time struggling with study logistics and more time doing what they love: caring for their patients. By simulating real-world scenarios that mirror actual clinical cases, I want to help students prepare not just for board exams, but for the day-to-day challenges of veterinary medicine.
